Day 4: Remembrance

Peace is not something you find out in the world or earn through years of effort. Peace is something you remember. You were born knowing it completely, as a baby knows no separation between itself and everything around it. Then you learned fear, you learned separation, you learned that you are not enough, that you must prove yourself, that love must be earned. None of that is true. Under all the noise and all the years of conditioning, you are still that baby — whole, complete, and already home. When you lie down with your eyes open, watching your thoughts like waves, you are not manufacturing peace. You are removing what has been hiding it, layer by layer. This is what the anchor feels like: the first time you drop it, it holds for a moment, then a wave pulls it loose. So you drop it again. And again. Each time, the anchor stays a little longer. Until eventually, it never leaves the bottom. That is remembrance becoming permanent.
