You do not need to believe a single word I say, and I have never asked anyone to take my word for anything. The practice I am describing works whether you believe in it or not, because it is mechanical, like brushing your teeth or turning on a faucet. You do not need to have faith in toothpaste for it to clean your teeth. You just use it. Lie down, keep your eyes open with a soft gaze, take a breath, and watch your thoughts like waves. That is something you can try right now, without believing in any system or any teacher. Try it for a few minutes. Then decide for yourself. Or do not decide. Just keep watching. The practice does not require your agreement, only your willingness to be present.
