Day 21: Love or Fear

After years of watching my own mind — lying down, eyes open, observing my thoughts like waves — I have come to see that every decision I make comes from one of two places: love or fear. There is no third option. Fear says: control everything, protect yourself, hide what is vulnerable, attack before you are attacked, hold on tight, never let go. Love says: trust, open, release, give, let things flow, allow yourself to be seen. When you watch your thoughts without judgment, you can see which waves are fear and which are love. Fear waves are tight, contracted, urgent. Love waves are open, spacious, calm. The practice does not force you to choose love. It just helps you see the difference. And once you see it, you cannot unsee it.
